Before the hair transplant, the number of grafts to be taken, the areas where the transplant will be performed, and the number of sessions required are meticulously planned. Additionally, necessary tests are conducted considering the patient's health condition, existing diseases, and any medications being used. At this stage, the starting point of the hairline and the placement of the grafts are also determined.
The areas from which the hair follicles will be extracted and where the transplant will be performed are numbed with local anesthesia. This is done with a special needle, and the effects of the anesthesia are felt within 3 to 5 minutes. This ensures that the patient does not experience any pain during the operation.
Before extracting the grafts, the donor area is inflated with a special solution to facilitate the extraction of hair follicles. In this procedure performed with a micromotor, the extracted grafts are placed in special containers, sorted into single, double, and triple groups, and then preserved in a cool environment.
Channels are opened in the transplant areas according to the previously planned number of grafts. It is critical to determine an angle that matches the natural growth direction of the hair. Slit or sapphire tips are typically used for channel opening. If the transplant is performed using the DHI method, grafts are directly placed with implant pens without opening channels.
Before implantation, the patient is shown the extracted grafts and informed about the number of grafts to be implanted. During the implantation process, the grafts are placed into the previously numbed area using special tweezers. At this stage, care is taken to ensure that the grafts are implanted at the correct angles and depths to achieve a natural appearance.
After the transplant is completed, the transplanted area is cleaned with saline solution. The extraction area is dressed and covered with sterile gauze. The patient is given antibiotics, pain relievers, and anti-swelling medications. Additionally, post-operative care instructions are provided, and the patient is discharged.
